Leon County Foreclosure Prevention Program

Leon County, Florida will provide assistance to qualified Leon County residents to bring current the existing first mortgage for their primary residence. Assistance will be approved for the amount required to bring the mortgage current after other relief measures have been exhausted, credit counseling, and refinancing costs, where applicable. Applicants will be considered on first come, first qualified basis.
Applicant must be delinquent at least 60 days, and have received notification in writing from their lender the foreclosure proceedings have been initiated.

Down Payment Assistance Program

Leon County, Florida provides down payment assistance and closing cost for first-time homebuyers in unicorporated areas (outside of Tallahassee city limits.)

Financial assistance is provided in the form of a deferred payment loan at 0%.

Criteria:

• Must purchase in unicorporated Leon County only.
• Home value must be $204,000 or lower.
• Your monthly mortgage payment cannot exceed more than 30% of your own funds.
• You must occupy the home as your primary residence.
• You must attend a Home Buyer Education Counseling Class/Seminar, inclusive of Pre-Purchase and Post-Purchase Home Ownership Education.

• $7,500 available to assist you with purchasing a home. (income restrictions apply)
